Harold W. Greene

Harold W. Greene, 91, of East Providence, died peacefully on February 18, 2024 at Evergreen House Health Center.  He was the loving husband of Doris C. (Crabtree) Greene.  The couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in July of 2023.  Born in Seekonk, MA, he was a son of the late Carl G. Greene and Isabell M. (Crockett) Greene.

Mr. Greene was employed in the banking industry for many years, retiring as Vice President of Bank of America.   He proudly served the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was a member of Haven United Methodist Church and the Covenant Church in Riverside.   An active sportsman, Harold enjoyed golfing, playing softball, and serving as referee in the basketball league at Haven Church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his loving children: Deborah L. Crepeau & her husband John of East Providence, Cheryl A. Souza & her husband James of Seekonk, and Alan E. Greene of Vero Beach, FL.  Cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late Edith Goulding, Gladys Marsland, George E. Greene, and Dorothy Franklin.   

Friends may call Saturday, February, 24, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. with a service to follow in the Home of J.H. WILLIAMS & CO., 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Rumford Cemetery.
