Otto H. Maurer, Jr.

Otto H. Maurer, Jr., 89 of Lincoln, died December 8, 2023 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center.  Born in Bekeley, RI, he was the son of the late Otto H. Maurer, Sr. and Alice E. (Miller) Maurer.

Mr. Maurer was employed as a materials manager with Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Company and Harris Graphics.  He was a graduate of Johnson & Wales with an Associate’s Degree in computer drafting and URI with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.  He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, serving on the USS Curlew.  He enjoyed volunteering at Pawswatch Community Cat Center.   

He leaves his loving children: Donna J. Maurer, Ph.D. and Sandra L. Rodriguez.  He was the father of the late Stephen M. Maurer.  Cherished grandfather of Steven M. McIntyre and his wife Ashley, and great-grandfather of Haileigh N. Amaral.  He was the brother of the late Marjorie L. Draper.  He was the former husband of Lynda L. Maurer of Providence, with whom he remained dear friends.  He also leaves his cherished friend, Willard Jocelyn.   

His funeral service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Highland Memorial Park, 1 Rhode Island Avenue, Johnston, RI.   Military Honors will follow.   Friends may call at the cemetery chapel from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
