Charles K. “Whoopie” Miller, Jr., 88, of East Providence, died May 26, 2018 at Evergreen House Health Center. Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late Charles K. Miller, Sr. & Viola L. (Lyon) Miller.
Mr. Miller was employed as a maintenance worker in local hospitals until his retirement. He was a member of Grace Bible Ministries of Somerset and the American Pool Association.
He was a local legend, known for his brilliant one handed pool game, playing the role of Santa for all of the kids, and last, but not least, always singing and bringing a smile to everyone with his rendition of “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling.”
He leaves his loving niece, Viola Miller Pouliot of Providence and several other nieces & nephews. He was the brother of May Miller, Sherry Vieira, Walter Miller, Glenn Miller, & the late Roland L. Miller, Edward Miller, Frank Miller, Donald Matthews & Helen Vastano.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later time to be announced. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to J.H. WILLIAMS & CO. FUNERAL HOME, 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence.
