Jean S. Hemingway

I was very saddened to hear of Jean's passing. She was one of many Girl Scout GreenBloods that made an impression on me as a very green staffer at GSRI when I came on board there. Her love of all outdoors and camping was infectious and I learned so much from her that I still use in my life and career today. I always remembered that she always had a song in her heart and she could be heard singing in her office and she would shore up her slacks with a square knot rope belt. I know she in singing with the angels now. You will forever be in my heart and mind. Rosanne

I am sorry to hear that Jean passed away. I had the opportunity to work with her for a short time at Girl Scouts of Rhode island. She hired me to work as a naturalist at the summer camps and then as a member of the program staff at GSRI. Her enthusiasm and love of scouting and the outdoors was contagious. I learned a great deal from her and am thankful for the time our paths crossed. Many women were touched and blessed by the programs and camps that Jean ran. My condolences to all her friends and family.
