Mary Baker Brooks

Mary S. (Baker) Brooks, 91, of East Providence, formerly of Prudence Island, died peacefully on December 2, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital.  Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Raymond H. Baker & Jessie L. (Cole) Baker.

Ms. Brooks was a Laboratory Technician at Rhode Island Hospital for many years until her retirement.  She was a Communicant of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Bristol, where she sang in the choir.  She was the organist and choir member of Union Church in Prudence Island.

She leaves her loving children: Richard D. Brooks (Marsha) of Prudence Island, J. Beryl Brooks of Tybee Island, GA, Philip D. Brooks (Mary Dondero) of Rehoboth, & Ellen Brooks Williams of Franklin, NC.  Cherished grandmother of six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of Susan Baker Howard of Eaton, OH and the late Raymond H. Baker & Edwin Baker.

Her Requiem Eucharist will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 am in St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 399 Hope Street, Bristol.  Burial in Spring Vale Cemetery will be private.  Calling hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 399 Hope St., Bristol, RI 02809 will be appreciated.  Arrangements have been entrusted to J.H. WILLIAMS & CO. FUNERAL HOME, 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence.
