Alyce "Billie" (Cook) Arden

East Providence

Arden, Alyce "Billie", 88, wife of the late Lawrence J. Arden, died on Monday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center Providence.  Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late Walter R., Sr. and Alice B. (DeNoncour) Cook. Mrs. Arden had worked as a bank Teller at the Industrial National Bank and later at Citizens Bank, retiring in 1984.  She was a volunteer at the Providence Convention Center. She was Past Matron of the Eastern Star, Providence Chapter #1, and was a member of Hope Link.  She was a member and past Deacon of the Newman Congregational Church and was President of the East Bay Women's Club.  Mrs. Arden leaves her daughter, Nancy Gage and her husband Wayne, a granddaughter, Lauren Miklovic and her husband Joe and a grandson, Christopher Gage.  She was sister of the late Walter R. Cook, Jr.  A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, 2/28/15, at 11:00 AM in the Newman Congregational Church,  100 Newman Ave., Rumford, RI.  Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 PM, in the J.H. WILLIAMS & CO.  FUNERAL HOME, 210 Taunton Ave., East Providence.  Memorial gifts may be directed to the Memorial Fund of the Newman Congregational Church, P.O.
