Barbara Christopher Obituary

Barbara A. Christopher, 88, of Seekonk, died peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Hattie Ide Chaffee Home. She was the loving wife of 65 years to Raymond “Mike” Christopher, Jr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Gunnar A. Carlson and Freda M. (Aspinall) Carlson.

Barbara was a graduate of URI School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in her younger years. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, painting, quilting, and basket weaving.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her sister, Clara Baud and her husband Charles of Wakefield, RI, her loving children: Karen L. Christopher of Mansfield, Lynne M. Manchester and her husband Neal of Rehoboth, and Raymond H. Christopher, III and his wife Donna of Arlington, MA. Barbara was the caring grandmother of Haley Manchester, Gunnar Manchester, Meredith Manchester, Craig Smith, Allison Smith, and Andrew Christopher.

Her funeral and burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Barbara’s memory to the Rehoboth Congregational Church, P.O. Box 325, Rehoboth, MA 02769, www.rehobothcongregational.org will be appreciated.

Arrangements are in the care of the Home of J.H. WILLIAMS & CO., 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence.
