Barbara Fahey Obituary

 Fahey, Barbara A., 92, wife of the late G. Brian Hall and Matthew J. Fahey, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Seekonk, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Augusta (Gleasner) Sykes. Barbara leaves her children, Matthew Fahey (Fran) of Rehoboth, MA, Katharine Lagor (Tim) of Seekonk, MA, Marjorie Dias (Gary) of Rumford, RI; her five grandchildren Dana Witengier (Juan Carlos) of Philadelphia, PA, Matthew Lagor (Shahnee) of Riverside, RI, Tara Grant (Taylor) of Rumford, RI, Emily Lagor of Boston, MA, Geoffrey Dias of Rumford, RI, her sister, Marjorie Cary (Herb) of Sheffield, MA, and her three great-grandchildren, Noah Morales, Jacob Lagor, and Violet Grant. She was predeceased by her brother, George E. Sykes and her son, Andrew Sykes Fahey.

Barbara married her first husband G. Brian Hall, pilot specialist RCAF on March 13, 1942. After his death in 1943, Barbara joined the American Red Cross and traveled extensively overseas, both during World War II and the Korean conflict, where she met her second husband, the late Matthew J. Fahey. They were married in Seattle, WA on November 13, 1947. Barbara and Matthew were married for 59 years, until his death in 2007.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00am at the Seekonk Congregational Church, 600 Fall River Avenue, Seekonk, MA.
