Barbara C. Patterson

Barbara C. Patterson, 98, of Rumford, died peacefully on December 28, 2021 at Island Health & Rehabilitation.  She was the wife of the late Richmond A. Patterson.  Born in Lewiston, ME, she was a daughter of the late Chandler H. Barron and Elsie A. (Olmstead) Barron.
She was graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine in 1941.  During the war her family moved to the Portland area where she attended Westbrook Junior College for one year.  In South Portland she met her first husband, Louis C. Anderson, Jr., whom she married in 1949.  They were married for 21 years until his passing in 1970.
In 1973 she married Richmond A. Patterson of Rumford and moved to Rhode Island.  They were married for 12 years until his passing in 1986.

Mrs. Patterson was a secretary at various churches until her retirement.   She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, and going to the beach.  

She leaves her loving children: Katharine J. Anderson of Rumford and Mark L. Anderson and his wife Donna of Hollis Center, Maine.  She was the stepmother of Barbara P. Clancy and her husband J. Charles of Riverside and Robert Patterson and his wife Lisa of Warren.  Cherished grandmother of Lynette K. Melton, J. Patrick Clancy, Jason Clancy, Kelley Clancy, and several great-grandchildren.   She was the sister of the late Olive Emery Adams, Chandler L. Barron, and Robert W. Barron.

Her funeral and burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Portland will be private.   Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
