Burton E. Chace

East Providence

Chace, Burton E., 93, husband of the late Doris E. (Woodmansee), died April 1, 2014.  Mr. Chace was a life-long East Providence resident.  He served his country in the US Navy during WW 2.  Burt worked as an Underwriter for Amica Insurance Co. for many years. He was one of the founders of the East Providence Church Softball League and was a life-long member and former Trustee of the Haven United Methodist Church in East Providence. He was a long-time member of the Grange and was a former member of Lakeside Cemetery Association in Rumford.  Mr. Chace leaves his children; Howard A. (Paula) and Judith A. Chace, and Linda C. Crocker, grandchildren; Brandyn A. (Kara) Chace, Bret A. Chace and his fiancé Melissa, Hannah L. and Ethan C. Crocker. Funeral service are Friday, April 4'th, at 11:00 AM, in the J.H. WILLIAMS & CO. Funeral Home, 210 Taunton Ave., East Providence.  Calling hours are Thursday, 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Rumford Cemetery, Rumford, RI.
