Diamantina "Tina" (Correia) Abrams

Rehoboth Abrams, Diamantina ‘Tina’, 83, wife of Kenneth Abrams, died on Dec. 19th. Born in Providence, she was daughter of the late Francisco and Olentina (Ferriera)Correia. Mrs. Abrams offered in home day care to local children throughout the seventies and early eighties where she earned the moniker ‘Aunt Tina’, which can still be heard in use today. She worked as a CSR for the R.E. Backlund Insurance Agency for 21 years. She cofounded a yearly golf tournament benefiting the MS Society for 22 years. She was a member of South Swansea Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters Diane Abrams, Cheryl Lafountain and Elizabeth Doyle, and one son Kenneth Abrams II; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased her siblings, Barbara Ferreira and Mariano Correia. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on January 17th, 2015 at 10AM, in the So. Swansea Baptist Church, 25 Church Street, Swansea, MA. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Activities Fund at Clifton, located at the Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center, 500 Wilbur Avenue, Somerset, MA, 02725 in Tina Abrams name.
