Edward T. Decoteaux, 67, of Rumford, died at home on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. He was the husband of Sandra D. (Perkins) Decoteaux. Born in Providence, he was a son of Marion F. (Bloom) Decoteaux, a resident of Evergreen House Health Center & the late Louis T. Decoteaux. Eddie grew up in South Attleboro on the ‘Plat’ with his parents and three siblings.
Eddie worked for Plainville Machinery as a machinist for a number of years before starting a painting and carpentry business with his Dad, Lou, called E & L Painting, where he worked until his retirement. He was a member of Newman Congregational Church.
In addition to his wife & mother, he leaves two loving children, his daughter Keri Decoteaux of Burrillville and his grandchildren James and Elijah, his son Clayton Decoteaux & his wife Melissa of West Palm Beach, FL. He was the brother of Diane L. Poirier & her husband Ed of North Attleboro. Preceded in death by his younger brother, Steven R. Decoteaux and very recently his sister Carol A. Decoteaux.
His Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving at Newman Congregational Church will be held at a later date. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Newman Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 100 Newman Avenue, Rumford, RI 02916 will be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to J.H. WILLIAMS & CO. FUNERAL HOME.
