Ellsworth G. Towne, Jr.

Ellsworth G. Towne, Jr. 94, of East Providence, died August 19, 2021 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Ellsworth G. Towne, Sr. and Minnie E. (Snow) Towne.

Mr. Towne was a self-employed house painter and worked at Earl Bassett Granite. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 10 in Riverside. He was a member of the Wampanoag Golf Club in Swansea.

He leaves his brother, David L. Towne of North Kingstown and three nieces. He was the brother of the late John I. Towne and Elizabeth C. Whitehead. He was the uncle of Darlene Towne, Debra Burns, Stephen Towne, and Ronald Towne. He also leaves his best friend Robert Vitullo.

His graveside service with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, RI. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
