Olear, George G. II, 59, of Barrington, RI, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Germaine (LaFauci) Olear.
George was born in Waterbury, CT on June 20, 1955. He is the son of the late George and Nina O’Lear. George was graduated from Cheshire Academy, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), and Providence College, and worked as an independent engineering consultant. George was an avid sailor and golfer and was a member of the Bristol Yacht Club. He was also an accomplished woodworker. He enjoyed musical theater and applied his creativity, technical expertise and construction skills in the production of local theatre and dance company performances. He was affiliated with Rosemary’s School of Dance Education, Studio 34 Dance Company and the Bristol Theatre Company.
George leaves his daughter, Allison Olear, of New York City and his sister, Nena Nanfeldt and her husband David of Vermont. George was predeceased by his brother, Gregory O’Lear.
Calling hours are Friday June 12, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the J.H. Williams & Co. Funeral Home, 210 Taunton Ave., East Providence, RI. A funeral service will be held on Saturday June 13 at 10:30 AM at the Seekonk Congregational Church, 600 Fall River Avenue, Seekonk, MA. Burial will be at Forest Chapel Cemetery in Barrington, RI.
