James R. Thomas

James R. Thomas, 88, of Rumford, died November 1, 2025 at The Miriam Hospital.   Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Evan A. Thomas and Carolyn (Sweet) Thomas. He was the companion of the late Irene Carrigan.  

Mr. Thomas was employed with the City of East Providence Parks Department for many years until his retirement.

He leaves his grandchildren: Heather Booher & her husband Corban, Kimberly Witte & her husband Jeremiah, and his great-grandchildren, Issaac Booher and Isabella Witte, all of Bristol, VA.   Cherished brother of Carolyn Jane Rose of Rumford, Donald P. Thomas of Seekonk, and Anne H. Dufresne of Ormond Beach, FL.  He was the brother of the late David S. Thomas, Evan A. Thomas, Jr., Willard S. Thomas, and Richmond H. Thomas. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.   

His funeral and entombment at Swan Point Cemetery was private.   Visitation was respectfully omitted.
