Janet E. Grant, 77, wife of the late John W. Grant, Jr., died April 9'th after an illness. Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Luther) Alden. Mrs. Grant worked as a CNA for many years. She was a Mayflower descendent. Janet was an avid Red Sox fan, loved playing mini golf and was most fond of her Thanksgivings with her family. She also enjoyed the many camping trips in Maine with her best friend, her husband. She leaves her children; John W., III and Clifford M. Grant, Linda L. Sweeney, Julie A. Major, Robert E. and Nancy E. Grant, her siblings; Priscilla Graham, Robert and Edward Alden, Nancy Charette, Arthur, Ellen and Marilyn Alden and 17 grandchildren and 100 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons; Steven J., Christopher J. and Matthew D. Grant and brothers; William, Clifford and John Alden. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, April 12'th from 2-4 PM followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM, in the J.H. WILLIAMS & CO. Funeral Home, 210 Taunton Ave., East Providence, RI. Private burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
