Ramos, Janet A. (Gomes), 68, of Cahill Street, Providence died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. A life long resident of Providence She was the wife of the late Manuel "Mushie" Ramos Jr..
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Ernesto "Ernie" and Marion S. (LeVoie) Gomes. Janet graduated from Central High School in 1966, She was a former Underwriter, a homemaker and a loving caregiver to her family. Janet enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and arts and crafts. She was noted for decorating her home for the seasons and holidays. Janet had an extraordinary love for animals, especially her beloved dog "Rocket". She would shelter and feed any and all strays in her neighborhood.
She is survived by a sister, Roxanne M. Gomes, a brother, Ernest L. "Lucky" Gomes, four nieces, Rahsaan M. Gomes-McCreary, Anna Washington, Panache M. Washington, and Marion D. Washington, two nephews, Brian E. Gomes and Ernest L. Gomes Jr., three great-nieces, Briel M. Gomes, Ava Gomes and Elisa Gomes, nine great-nephews, Brian E. Gomes Jr., Elantre M. Campbell, Nicholas Gomes, Kyree E.Washington, Kennard O. Washington, Jerry J. Nicoleau, Jaxson E. Nicoleau, Lennell R. Allen and Lerrell C. Allen, two great-great nieces, Sophia R. Baptista and Milah Gomes, two Sisters-in-law, Lisa Washington and Rebecca "Becky" Ramos.
