John Roger Hass

August 3, 1925 – September 8, 2021

John R. Hass passed away peacefully on 9/8/21, having lived his 96 years fully and surrounded by those who loved him.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Rita, their sons Mathew, Russell, Allan and his wife Deborah Hancko, Steven, and their daughter Melinda and her husband Brian Fahey. He also is survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and his dear sister Marjorie Noon, and many devoted nieces and nephews.

John is predeceased by his beloved brother, friend and business partner Joseph A. Hass, and his wife Romaine.

John was blessed to continue his lifelong passion of farming into his 90’s.  He lived life on his own terms, never straying far from the farm and its lifelong allure. John was fortunate to be married to the love of his life, Rita, for 65 years.He was a humble man and a prolific reader who loved animals, nature and science. He strove to instill sound values in his children and to better their lives to the end. 

A funeral service will be held at the Rehoboth Congregational Church on Wednesday September 15that 11am. In place of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the Rehoboth Congrega­­­­­­tional Church.

Arrangements are in the care of the Home of J.H. WILLIAMS & CO., 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI.
