Joseph Arnold Hass

Joseph Arnold Hass, a longtime farmer in Rehoboth, died August 19, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Romaine (Ash), whom he had known since they were 14 years old. He leaves his son, Mark and wife Roni Hass, his three daughters: Heather Riess, Helene and husband Steven Holmes, and Christy and husband Robert Dlugolenski. He also leaves his grandchildren: Mikaela Hass, Julie Hass, Emily Riess, Carl Joseph and wife Stefanie Holmes, Abigail Holmes, Sarah (Dlugolenski) and husband Tyler Greco, and Eric Dlugolenski, as well as great grandchildren Caleb Holmes and Kaley Greco. He also leaves his brother, John R. and his wife Rita Hass and his sister Marjory Noon and many devoted nieces and nephews. Joe was well known for his strong work ethic, high standards, and devotion to his family. He was reknowned for his sense of humor. He loved gospel and country music and jazz as well as songs from the 40's and 50's and dancing. He and Romaine were former challenge square dancers. He was a life-long learner, reveling in extracting information from each person and situation he met. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 23'rd, from 10:00AM to 12 Noon, in the J.H. WILLIAMS & CO. FUNERAL HOME, 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI. A funeral service, in the funeral home, will follow at 12:00. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to Habitat for Humanity, 121 Habitat St., Americus, GA 31709-3498.
