Kathleen (Lindberg) Pearson, 65, of Providence, died Thursday, June 5.
Kathy was born to the late Walter and Margaret (Chalmers) Lindberg, March 2, 1949. She graduated from Seekonk High School and then attended Dean Junior College and West Virginia University, where she earned a BS in Home Economics and married Mr. Ronald Pearson in 1971. She taught home economics in Southbridge, Massachusetts in the early 1970s. In 1995, she obtained a master’s degree in education from Providence College. She worked as a special education teacher in Fall River, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island in the 1990s.
Kathy enjoyed teaching, warm weather, her friends, and her family. She was passionate about swimming and boating, especially in the Kickemuit River. She cherished the trips she took to Martha’s Vineyard, Block Island, Newport, and Marco Island, Florida with her family. Above all, she loved her family and encouraged her three children to enjoy life.
Kathy is survived by her two sisters, Judith Lawson of Rehoboth, Massachusetts and Susan Howell of Barrington, Rhode Island; her three children, Chad Pearson of Denton, Texas; James Pearson of Bristol, Rhode Island, and Heather Pearson of Burlington, Vermont; her three grandchildren, Lucia Pearson and Maxine and Wynne McConnell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was also the sister of the late Peggy (Lindberg) Harris Toohey.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday, August 7, 11:00 am at the Seekonk Congregational Church, 600 Fall River Ave., Seekonk.
