Obituary

Lois C. Carlson, 90, of Tiverton and formerly of Warren, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay, with her daughters by her side. She was the wife of the late Rev. Robert S. Carlson.  Born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Coles Parent and Gladys (Ellingwood) Parent.

Mrs. Carlson was a graduate of Gordon College where she received her Bachelors Degree and Rhode Island College where she received her Masters Degree in Education.  She was an elementary school and kindergarten teacher for many years in Fall River.  She also worked as a Realtor with T.R. Little & Coleman Realty. 

She was a member of The First Baptist Church in Swansea and Seekonk Congregational Church.  Lois loved golfing, skiing, playing Mahjong, and traveling, and spending time on the Cape. She also enjoyed walking her dogs at Colt State Park every day. 

She leaves her loving daughters, Lori A. Correia and her husband Ray of Rehoboth and Lynn C. Gately and her husband Ed of Rehoboth.  She was the mother of the late Lisa R. Codega.  Cherished grandmother of Lauren C. Correia, Jill L. Gately, Katie C. Gately, Krissy D. Gately, and Lucy Q. Lewis.  She was the sister of the late Lloyd Parent and Hazen Parent.  

Her Funeral Service will be held June 10, 2023 at 12 P.M. in The First Baptist Church in Swansea, 21 Baptist Road, Swansea, MA.  Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery.  Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to RISPCA, 186 Amaral St, Riverside RI 02915 will be appreciated.
