Maureen (Phillips) Candelario, 55, of Woonsocket, RI, passed away on April 23, 2024, at Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence, RI, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her longtime partner Michael Hurst of Woonsocket.
Maureen was born in Milford, MA, on May 1, 1968, and was the beloved daughter of the late Kenneth Phillips and Meg McCleary. She was raised in Medway, MA and attended Tri-County High School for cosmetology. She later graduated from Wilfred Beauty Academy in 1989 and worked as a hairdresser for several years after.
Maureen leaves behind a daughter, Kyra (Gaffney) Hill, and her husband, David Hill, of Millis, MA, and sons Ryan Gaffney of Woonsocket, RI and Kyle Gaffney of Tampa, FL. Maureen is also survived by four grandchildren, Aidan, Mason, Brooklyn, and Juniper as well as two brothers, Stephen Phillips and wife Cindy of Milford, MA, and Patrick Phillips and wife Tricia of Belmont, MA. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her family, Maureen's circle of loved ones includes Verna Leemans, who was like a second mother, providing unwavering love and support throughout her life and Verna’s daughter Paula Bliss, Maureen’s longtime childhood friend.
She is predeceased by her son, Michael Gaffney, who tragically passed in 2019.
Services will be held privately at a later date.
