Michael Paul Surgento, 85, formerly of Barrington RI, passed away on February 11th in Warren, RI. Michael is predeceased by Sheila Ray (Whitcomb) Surgento whom he was married to for almost 33 years.
Michael is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Daniel Fasulo and grandson Matthew Paul Fasulo, all of Madison, CT. Michael was born in Bristol, RI and was active in local theater. He was a teacher in the Portsmouth, RI school district and directed a number of the high school’s musical theater productions in the 1980s. After retiring from teaching he became active in the Barrington Senior Center chorus where he performed in many shows both in town and at various area nursing homes and senior living facilities.
Memorial visitation will be held at the J. H. Williams & Co. Funeral Home, 210 Taunton Avenue East Providence, RI on Saturday February 20th from 2 pm to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd, Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886-2233.
