Myrtle ”Tootsie” (Elderkin) Gardner,78, died on March 10th at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the companion of James Bell for 38 years and wife of the late Lester Gardner. Born in Attleboro, a daughter of the late William Elderkin and Mabel Chaffee, she lived in East Providence. She leaves behind two sisters Margaret Conn and Constance Licciardi a brother Kenneth Elderkin all of East Providence, many nieces and nephews. Myrtle is predeceased by a son Lester Gardner, three brothers, William Jr., Charles and Robert Elderkin and a sister Alice Fenwick. Myrtle worked many years in the healthcare field as a CNA. A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 14th, at 10:00 AM in the J.H. Williams & Co Funeral Home, 210 Taunton Ave.E. Providence.
