Robert A. Hill

Robert A. Hill, 77, of Barrington, died peacefully on July 29, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital.  He was the loving husband of Elaine R. (Saunders) Hill for 57 years.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Elwin A. Hill and Irene (Hartley) Hill.

Bob owned and operated Hill’s Tire & Auto and Bob’s Tool & Supply for many years.   He was a talented mechanic with various auto repair shops throughout his career.   

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Vietnam War.   He was a member of the American Legion Post 8 in Barrington, Rhode Island VFW, and the East Providence FOPA.  He was member of the RI Muzzle Loaders Club of Rehoboth.   

In addition to wife, he leaves his sister, Ruth A. Daly of Albion, RI and his sisters-in-law, Karen Biernacki & her husband John of Cumberland and Valerie Saunders of Barrington.  He was the brother of the late Ronald Hill, Rachel Milligan, and Roger Hill.   He also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Home of J.H. WILLIAMS & CO., 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Barrington.  Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
