Robert H. Martel

Robert H. “Grumpy” Martel, 70 of Pawtucket, died February 23, 2022 at Oak Hill Nursing Center. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Joseph R. Martel and Dorothy C. (Breault) Martel.  

Mr. Martel was employed as a salesman with Tarpy’s Beef Company in Pawtucket until his retirement.  He was an auto racer at Seekonk Speedway where he was affectionately known as “Grumpy.” 

He leaves his loving sister, Marilyn S. Njoes and her husband Barry of North Kingstown and many loving nieces, nephews, and grandnieces & nephews.   He was the brother of the late Ronald R. Martel and Richard J. Martel.   

His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in the Home of J.H. WILLIAMS & CO., 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI.  Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery will be private.  

Friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. prior to the service.
