Ruth Porter

Porter, Ruth, 91, died on Dec. 10. She was the wife of the late of Brookes Porter, for 45 years. Born in Providence a daughter of the late Albertus Hill and Dorothy Brown, she lived in Rumford for 57 years. She leaves a son Gary Main, 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a half brother Walter Hall. Ruth worked for many years as an elevator operator at the Industrial Nat. Bank. She was a member of the Church of The Epiphany where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years and was the Church Historian, writing Histories of the church and keeping a pictorial history from it's beginnings. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, at 11:00 AM in the Church of The Epiphany, 1336 Pawtucket Ave., E. Providence. Memorial gifts may be directed to the church.
