Sean L. Duffy
Son, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Engineer
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sean L. Duffy, aged 65, of Rehoboth, MA, and Suzhou, China. He departed this life unexpectedly on October 19, 2023, at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Fall River, MA, Sean was the cherished son of Joan S. (Trott) Duffy of Rehoboth and was predeceased by his father, William F. Duffy III.
Sean dedicated many years to the manufacturing industry as a skilled tool and die engineer, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His passion for the game of golf was evident to all who knew him, spending countless hours perfecting his swing and enjoying camaraderie as a long-time member of Rehoboth Country Club. Sean was a friend whose always present smile and sense of humor will be missed by many.
Family was at the core of Sean's heart. He is survived by his devoted children and their families: Timothy Duffy and his wife, Tanya, of Foxborough, MA; and Tanya Duffy and her fiancé, Andrew Leonard, of Pawtucket, RI. and his girlfriend lovingly known as Ting. Both Timothy and Tanya will forever cherish the memories of trips to Maine during their childhood, as well as the joyful moments spent camping, staying at the cottage, and hiking with their father. Sean took immense pride in his grandchildren: McKenna Duffy, Nicholas Leonard, and Brayden Duffy. He leaves behind his dear brother, William F. Duffy III and his nephew Aaron Duffy.
Sean lived in China for the past 8 years; a place he grew to love and admire. He will be
greatly missed by his partner in China, who he lovingly called “Ting” and her 10 year
old son.
In respect of Sean’s wishes, his services will be held privately.
A celebration of Sean's life, capturing his spirit and commemorating his legacy, is planned for November 2nd, 2023 at Five Bridge Inn in Rehoboth, MA from 6pm – 11pm. We invite family, friends, and acquaintances to join in remembering a life well-lived and a man greatly missed.
