Serafina M. Ferreira

Serafina M. Ferreira of Pawtucket, sadly passed on August 10th, 2023 and is now in the presence of God.

Serafina was born on July 11th, 1932 in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal. Her dear siblings Xavier, Horácio, Antero, and Germana are no longer with us, but remained in her heart. She was married to her beloved husband Armando J. Ferreira until widowed at 49 years of age.

She is survived by her children; Bruno W. Ferreira and his wife Paula, Dalila F. Ferreira, Dario E. Ferreira and his wife Wanda.
Raising her children was one of her proudest accomplishments. Serafina came to the United States in 1985 and worked as a seamstress. She worked very hard at creating a life in a new country. She was the adoring grandmother of Mónica, Bruna, and Raquel, and  great-grandmother of Beatríz, Benjamin, and Matheus.

She thoroughly enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, and listening to classical music. She had a passion for cooking authentic Portuguese meals for herself and her family. Swimming at the beach was something she loved doing during the summertime. One of her hobbies was to collect cards and create photo albums from important moments in her and her family’s life. These have become a wonderful way for her to live on with her family.

Calling hours at J. H. Williams & Co. Funeral Home at 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence RI will be held on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 between 9:30am and 10:30am. Following that will be a funeral Mass held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church at 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket RI. At 11:00am. Following the Mass, interment will take place at Swan Point Cemetery at 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence RI.
