Steven A. Frausto, 57, of East Providence passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 6/14/26. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Madalene (DaTerra) and Frank Frausto of Rumford, RI.
After graduating from East Providence Senior High School he served proudly in the Army Reserves as part of the 483rd Engineers out of New Bedford, MA. He eventually settled into a career as a cook, working in restaurants and health care facilities for the past 3 decades. At one point he ran his own restaurant, The Corner Grille, in Riverside, Rhode Island. He had a lifelong love for music, fishing, and sports. He started playing guitar as a youth and never lost his passion for playing. He was self taught on the guitar and prided himself on being able to teach himself any rock song, or more recently, any country song, that he set his mind to. Up until his final days he could be heard playing his guitar in the backyard. He also had a lifelong enthusiasm for fishing, both fresh and saltwater. His favorite spot in recent years had become the beach at Quonset Point. Through the years he remained an avid fan of our local teams, the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
Anyone who knew Steven understood he was a free spirit who unwaveringly chose his own path in life. No one was ever more excited about a new idea or course of action than he would be. Once he decided on something there was simply no way he was going to change his mind even when those around him tried at times. Sadly Steven left us far too soon. He will be missed by all the those who knew him.
He leaves four siblings, Frank Frausto of Seekonk, MA, David Frausto of Rumford, RI, Leslie Frausto of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Michael Frausto of Pawtucket, RI. He also leaves three nieces and a nephew, Megan, Cheyenne, Sierra, Michael Frausto and former wife Sandra (Rua) Foster of Texas.
Visitation will be held at the J.H. Williams Funeral Home, 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI on Thursday, July 9, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
