The Rev. L. Daniel Paglia, 87, of East Providence, entered into glory on June, 21, 2026. Born in Bronx, NY, he was a son of the late Carmelo Paglia and Angelina (Civitano) Paglia.
Pastor Dan grew up in the Bronx and was a member of the Italian Christian Churches of North America. His father, Carmelo Paglia served as Bishop and visited struggling churches in Italy. Following in his father’s footsteps, Pastor Dan came to Rhode Island in 1965 and was a student at Zion Bible Institute from 1965 to 1968. He was ordained a minister in 1990.
Pastor Dan was involved with Zion Gospel Church for over 50 years. From 1990 to present, he was active in ministry, visiting the sick and shut-ins.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during peacetime.
He leaves his loving sons, Emanuel Louis Paglia of Cranston and Daniel Paglia of East Providence. He was the father of the late Carmine R. Paglia. Cherished grandfather of Patricia A. Nash, Faith Paglia, and Anthony Paglia. He was the brother of Domenic Paul Paglia of Sewell, NJ and Michael J. Paglia of Bronx, NY.
His Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Zion Gospel Church, 90 Leonard Avenue, East Providence. Burial will follow in Springvale Cemetery, Rumford.
Friends may call at Zion Gospel Church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Zion Gospel Church will be appreciated.
