Coates, Theresa Vivian, a Brooklyn, New York resident of 50 years, died Sunday, May 15,2016 at Charlesgate Nursing Center, Providence. Born December 23, 1919 in Providence, The daughter of the late Edward and Mabel (Edmonds) Coates, she is survived by her brother Dr. Edward "Eddie" Coates, his wife Jean
(Laroche) Coates of Trinity, FL, several nieces and nephews. she was the sister of the late Bertha Underwood, Marie Perry, William "Bill" Coates and companion of the late Riley Evans. She attended Central High School and Wadsworth Street AME Zion Church and worked for the Providence Art Club before retiring from factory work in NYC. Theresa enjoyed reading, visiting family and friends. She was known for her big heart.
