Blackledge, Vernon L., 91, of Attleboro, MA, died peacefully on November 17, 2017 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the loving husband of Sheila M. (Waldron) Blackledge. Born in Swansea, MA, he was a son of the late Clarence Blackledge & Ruth (Easterbrooks) Blackledge.
Mr. Blackledge was the owner and machinist of Blackledge, Inc. of East Providence for many years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He was a member of Eastern Star Lodge AF & AM of Rehoboth, the Seekonk Rod & Gun Club, and the West Greenwich Rod & Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his loving daughters: Linda Davidson of East Providence & Donna J. Corneau & her husband Rene of Cumberland. He was the grandfather of Wayne Davidson of East Providence, Jeffery Davidson of South China, ME, Kate Corneau of Cumberland, & Sarah Corneau of Cumberland. He was the brother of the late Arthur Blackledge & Roland R. Blackledge.
A private graveside service was held at Thomas Cemetery, Swansea. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to J.H. WILLIAMS & CO. FUNERAL HOME, 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence.
