Virginia Latham Obituary

Virginia R. (Potter) Latham, a retired pre-school special needs teacher in Middleboro, died Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Madonna Manor.  She was in her 83rdyear.  She was the loving wife of the late Russell F. Latham.  Born in Taunton, she was a daughter of the late Ralph W. Potter and Virginia E. (Higgins) Potter.  

Mrs. Latham was an active member of the Rehoboth Congregational Church.  A 1957 graduate of Taunton High School, she was chairman of many class reunions.  A 1982 graduate of Rhode Island College, she was a former board member of New Hope, Inc. and a volunteer parent aide.  

She is survived by her loving children, Lance E. Latham and his wife Karen of North Andover, MA, Adam W. Latham and his wife Jennifer of Rehoboth, and Tammy J. Kingsland and her husband Andrew of Taunton.  She was the mother of the late Roy C. Latham.  Cherished grandmother of Hannah Latham, Gio Vargas, Tristan Latham, Sophia Latham, Matthew Frey, Andrew Kingsland, and Katelyn Kingsland.  She was the sister of Sandra O’Connor of Norton and the late Ralph W. Potter and Thomas A. Potter.  She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Her Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. in the Rehoboth Congregational Church, 139 Bay State Road, Rehoboth. Burial in Mayflower Hill Cemetery will be private.

Friends may call at the Rehoboth Congregational Church from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to New Hope Inc., 247 Maple Street, Attleboro, MA 02703 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090 will be appreciated.

Arrangements are in the care of the Home of J.H. WILLIAMS & CO., 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI.
